Nice try dancing around the fact that they re skinned D3 as a starting base and here we are with another trash can diablo Nowadays it just means more than a handful of players. MMO used to be hundreds of players in a single world. Judging it like a final product before release is asinine.ĭiablo 4 IS IN FACT an MMO but not in the sense you’re thinking MMO means. The game might potentially see changes beyond what we’re offered in the beta, so keep your expectations low for this playthrough. Nowadays it just means more than a large handful of players, typically in a persistent online world. Once you’ve finished the initial story, you have adventure mode like in Diablo 3… or as some of you here want it, like in Diablo 2.ĭiablo 4 IS IN FACT an MMO but not in the sense you’re thinking MMO means. Like it or not, Diablo 4 is a modern game with modern storytelling elements, so you’re going to get pulled out of combat for a cutscene or two during your playthrough. You can’t seriously expect them to mimic a 20 year old game that was more or less clunky from the get go - this isn’t to say I don’t like Diablo 2 but I would never expect a game to be as minimalist in design as Diablo 2. Furthermore, unfortunately for those of you who do not like Diablo 3, the game’s playstyle is infinitely more successful than Diablo 2’s so of course they kept some aspects of a game that meshes better with modern audiences. They only stated they wanted it to have darker atmosphere in the storytelling and environment like those games - which it accomplished pretty nicely. Y’all need to readjust your expectations.ĭiablo 4 was never intended to be like Diablo 1 or Diablo 2.
